Four new stolen cars are unaccounted for, not one.
Cape Girardeau police issued a correction Monday, Oct. 23, regarding information of a recent daring vehicle heist from a Cape Girardeau Dodge dealership.
The burglary, which involved breaking through the glass showroom of the dealership, was reported on the morning of Oct. 12. Seven vehicles were stolen. It was originally reported that only one vehicle was still missing.
"Due to a misunderstanding, it was learned only three of the vehicles were recovered," a news release issued by public information officer Bobby Newton said.

The vehicles were entered into a law enforcement database, police said. Cape Girardeau police detectives are still following up on leads. Anyone with information about the incident may contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department at (573) 335-6621 or the anonymous tip line at (573) 339-6313.
Police originally said a person was taken into custody immediately after the cars were stolen, but no information has been released regarding an arrest. Police have not shared how some cars were recovered.
