Cape Girardeau man charged with statutory rape

A Cape Girardeau man has been charged with statutory rape after allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old in 2009. The victim told investigators with the SEMO Network Against Sexual Violence while being interviewed in regard to being molested by a different person that James E. Parkhill, 27, had "raped" her more than 10 times, according to court documents. Parkhill told police he had intercourse with the victim only once, after returning from an Illinois strip club, and that the victim asked him to have sex with her. Parkhill was arrested Friday and remained in jail on a $30,000 bond.
