A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor warrant for allegedly making threats to kill two people and placing harassing phone calls.
Stan D. Stucker, 30, 620 Boxwood Drive, No. C, was placed in custody by police in Poplar Bluff, Mo., hours after being charged with two misdemeanor counts of harassment, said Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle.
According to a probable cause statement, Stucker had been making threats against an employee at Toni's House of Flowers in Cape Girardeau, as well as the owner of the shop and her husband.
"We took him seriously because he has 10 convictions," Swingle said.
According to a second probable-cause statement, Stucker had been allegedly calling the florist shop about 60 times between 8 and 10 p.m. March 4. The woman who received the calls, Stucker's aunt, said she recognized his voice.
In the calls, Stucker said he would harm her, her husband and her business, the sworn statement said.
Last weekend, the tires on all of the woman's vehicles were slashed, according to Swingle.
When Stucker called Wednesday morning, he said the woman's Suburban was next, Swingle said.
Stucker also allegedly told her she was going to "turn up missing" Wednesday night.
The calls began when an employee at the flower shop let Stucker, recently released from prison on parole, stay with her, and then eventually kicked him out, Swingle said.
According to Swingle, Stucker's parole officer said the man should be considered "very dangerous."
Bond for Stucker was set at $100,000 cash only.
