A Cape Girardeau man wanted for possessing cocaine was arrested after a struggle with police on Tuesday.
Solomon P. Sides, 17, of 413 S. Benton St., was stopped in the 300 block of south Hanover Street Tuesday afternoon, Cpl. Kevin Orr said.
Police were searching for Sides on a warrant for cocaine possession, Orr said.
When officer Jeffery Bohnam attempted to arrest Sides, he began pushing and kicking, Orr said. Sides then attempted to run off, but was stopped by police.
The warrant for cocaine possession came from a traffic stop on July 17 by the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department. During the stop, Sides had also been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and not having valid license plates on his car.
Sides is being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
