Cape Girardeau and Jackson public schools plan to have classes today. Neither school district plans to delay the start time of classes either.
Neil Glass, director of administrative services at Cape Girardeau School District, said they had been monitoring the situation since Monday evening and were confident conditions were not hazardous enough to cancel classes.
"Our crews have been checking the roads throughout the night," Glass said. "There are some icy patches out there but overall the roads look good."
Jackson superintendent Ron Anderson said his staff communicated throughout the night and this morning to reach their decision.
"We haven't really had anything during the night over here in Jackson," Anderson said. "We communicated with each other as a staff and didn't see anything on the radar that would change our decision."
