The partners in Cape Girardeau's DREAM Initiative will hold an open house from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the new home of the Children's Museum at 502 Broadway. Representatives of Old Town Cape, city government and the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce will be available to answer questions about the initiative, a state-sponsored program that provides planning assistance and priority in grants to revitalize the core areas of smaller cities across the state. Over the past two years, planning consultants have conducted focus groups, surveyed city residents and tourists and analyzed Cape Girardeau's market to help map the future of downtown and adjacent areas. Along with local representatives, officials from the state and from PGAV, the planning firm that handled much of the survey work, will be on hand.
