An Imo's delivery driver told police he was beaten and robbed of pizzas while making a delivery to a Cape Girardeau apartment Thursday night.
The incident allegedly took place at about 11:40 p.m., according to Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey. The driver told police he knocked on an apartment building door at 125 N. Clark Ave., when a man wearing dark clothing opened the door and began to hit him, Hickey said.
The driver dropped the pizzas and their warmer and ran back to his car, Hickey said. The suspect followed for a short distance and continued to "punch at him," Hickey said. When the driver made it back to his car, he turned around and the suspect and the pizzas were gone.
Police have yet to take anyone into custody, Hickey said, and the incident is still under investigation.
