Cape Girardeau County sheriff's deputies are searching for Terry E. Moore, 26, of Jackson, who faces charges in a break in at the Hanover Station belonging to the East County Fire Protection District on Sept. 13.

Moore may have fled to the area of Jackson, Tenn., after detectives were able to make contact with him by cell phone, and informed him of the charges, said detective Eric Friedrich.

Moore was charged with two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, two counts of tampering with a motor vehicle, burglary and theft of property more than $500 but less than $25,000.

The break in occurred during early morning hours on Sept. 13., when the suspect gained entry by ripping apart a side of sheet metal, and apparently injuring himself.

Blood samples were taken from inside the fire station, as well as on a Ford pickup found parked in the lot.

One of the fire trucks was missing and located within Cape Girardeau city limits that same morning.

Several pieces of equipment were missing from the fire station.
