At Monday's meeting, the Cape Girardeau County Commission approved a request by prosecuting attorney Morley Swingle to use money from his Bad Check Fund to finance training for two police officers.
Swingle will spend $1,540 from the fund to pay for Jason Lacey of the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad to attend medicolegal death investigator training in St. Louis. Swingle will spend $1,000 from the fund to pay for a portion of the almost $3,000 cost to send Detective Keith Green, also of the major case squad, to cell phone technology and data recovery training in St. Louis.
Commissioners Jay Purcell and Paul Koeper both approved the request. Presiding commissioner Gerald Jones was not at Monday's meeting.
