The Cape Girardeau County Commission meets at 9 a.m. today at 1 Barton Square in Jackson. The Cape Girardeau County Commission meets at 9 a.m. today at 1 Barton Square in Jackson.

The meeting opens with a review of minutes from Monday's meeting, nonagenda items and routine business such as department reports and document reviews. The commissioners will vote on bill payments, senior tax board funding for 2009, the 2009 contract with Cape County Private Ambulance Service and consider an amendment to the development agreement with Great Missouri Builders.

The following appointments are scheduled:

  • 9:30 a.m., Cape Girardeau planner Martha Brown, with a bike trail lease agreement proposal.
  • 10 a.m., Bruce Watkins, parks department director's monthly report.
  • 10:15 a.m., county highway administrator Scott Bechtold, on the surveyor recommendation for Route AB right of way, followed by his department's monthly report.
  • 10:45 a.m., County Clerk Kara Clark, reporting on the 2009 health insurance plan.

The commissioners will also ask for public comments and may hold an executive session, in accordance with Missouri's Sunshine Laws, before adjourning for the week.
