Consent ordinances

(Second and third readings)

Repealed handicap parking on a portion of South Middle Street.

Approved a record plat of Schuessler Subdivision.

New ordinances

(First reading) Approved a special-use permit to Jeffrey A. and Laura Thomas for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining a lighted pole sign at 1925 William St.

Granted a special-use permit to St. Francis Medical Center for the purpose of constructing and maintaining a four-story health and wellness center at 150 S. Mount Auburn Road.

Granted a special use permit to Terry Enterprises LLC for the purpose of maintaining and operating a child care facility at 818 S. Sprigg St.

Approved changes to the zoning ordinance regarding the Board of Adjustment.

Levied a special assessment for the improvement of Southern Expressway from South Kingshighway to Silver Springs Road and authorizing the issuance of special tax bills.

Established the boundaries of a trunk sewer district to serve Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Accepted a permanent sewer easement from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for sanitary sewer improvements.

Established the boundaries of a trunk sewer district for Arbor Heights First Addition on the east side of Perryville Road between Lexington Avenue and Lakeshore Drive.

Authorized the city manager to execute a contract with Kelley Transportation Co. Inc. for the subsidized taxi coupon program.

Vacated an alley running east off of Louisiana Avenue between Merriwether Street and William Street.

Resolutions Approved an amendment to the agreement between the city of Cape Girardeau and Jacobs Civil Inc. for the sanitary sewer improvement program.

Authorized an application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for a Neighborhood Initiative Grant for downtown revitalization and infrastructure improvements.

Approved a $419,823 contract with Nip Kelley Equipment Co. for a riverfront trail.

Approved a contract agreement and change order for hangar taxiway reconstruction at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

Liquor licenses

Approved temporary 5 percent beer by the drink license for Gail M. Holbert, d/b/a Cape Girardeau Owners and Pilots Club for an event to be held July 11-13 at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

Renewed original package liquor and Sunday sales: American Retail Services d/b/a/ Wink's, 1803 Independence; American Retail Services d/b/a/ Wink's, 2021 Perryville; Midwest Energy Inc. d/b/a Amerimart No. 5, 865 N. Kingshighway.

Renewed of 5 percent beer by the drink: David D. McAllister, d/b/a Mac's Smokehouse BBQ, 525 N. Silver Springs Road; Mid America Trading LLC d/b/a Manee Thai, 1315 Broadway; Midwest Energy Inc. d/b/a Ye Ole House, 120 Broadway.

Renewed retail liquor by the drink: Alfred L. McCain d/b/a Our House, 2 N. Main; Tyrone Henderson d/b/a Tee Jay's, 823 S. Kingshighway;

Granted conditional renewal of original package liquor and Sunday sales: Midwest Energy Inc. d/b/a Amerimart No. 7, 1320 W. Cape Rock; Semo Gas Inc., Toni A. Majeed, d/b/a Semo Gas.

Granted conditional renewal of 3.2 percent nonintoxicating beer by the drink: Scott Bucher d/b/a Imo's Pizza, 1201 Broadway.

Granted conditional renewal of 5 percent beer by the drink and Sunday sales: Missouri Parks Development Foundation d/b/a Shawnee Park Sports Complex, 1157 S. West End Blvd.

Other

Accepted improvements to Southern Expressway from South Kingshighway to Silver Springs Road and authorizing final payment to Lappe Cement Finishing Inc.

Accepted into the city's system a sewer line to serve a tract of land owned by the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Approved improvement plans for sanitary sewers, storm sewers, stormwater improvements, water improvements and streets for Arbor Heights First Addition on Perryville Road.

Approved improvement plans for a sewer extension to serve a tract of land located east of Silver Springs Road between Bloomfield Road and Missouri Highway 74 for the Lutheran Home.

Accepted into the city's system a sewer line extension to serve properties along the 3700 block of Hopper Road.

Rejected all bids on the Kingsway Drive sewer and authorized the rebidding of the project.
