Cape Girardeau police are investigating an early Friday morning burglary and theft of jewelry from a local business. According to Cpl. Ike Hammonds, an officer responded to an alarm sounding at B&L Coins, 354 S. Plaza Way, around 4 a.m. Friday. Upon arrival, the officer found the front glass door had been broken to gain entry. Hammonds said the owner reported that a large amount of jewelry was taken from the store. There were no suspects as of Friday afternoon.
