CAPE FIRE DEPARTMENT ADDS ONE TO RANKS, PROMOTES TWO

Mike Ramsey recently joined the ranks of the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

Ramsey, 27, of Oran is a certified firefighter, having worked with Oran's volunteer fire department and rescue squad since 1986. He is a certified emergency medical technician, and is enrolled in a paramedic course.

Ramsey will work with the department's B Crew at Fire Station No. 2.

He is married and has three sons.

Cape Girardeau firefighter David McLain was named the department mechanic, replacing firefighter Mike Morgan, who now will serve as the public education officer and assistant fire inspector.
