As property owners exchange lawn mowers for yard rakes, city crews have prepared a schedule for curbside leaf pickup.

The program runs Nov. 6 through Dec. 15 and is a service offered by the city's Public Works Department. The leaves are taken to the city's compost holding area.

Residents can rake their leaves to the curb before the week specified in their neighborhood, and city crews will haul them away.

The schedule for pickup is done by city neighborhoods, starting in the southern section and working north. Crews will work an average of four days in an area.

Residents can also haul leaves to the compost holding area on Third Street just off La Cruz Street. The area will be open for drop-off this week from noon to 5 weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

For information, call the public works department at 334-9151.
