Cape County Republican Women's Club to host Wallingford

The Cape County Republican Women's Club will host state Sen. Wayne Wallingford at its monthly meeting Friday at Dexter Bar-B-Que, 236 Broadview St. in Cape Girardeau.

Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, recently accepted the position of chairman of Vets4Energy, a group of volunteer veterans who act as advocates for energy policies to sustain national security, and recently returned from a trip to Washington, D.C., where he met with members of seven national Senate offices, including those who work for both of Missouri's senators.

The title of his speech is "National Security Through Energy Security."

The group will gather for the program, lunch and fellowship at noon.
