A local man was killed Tuesday when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Highway 25 near County Road 318, police said. A local man was killed Tuesday when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Highway 25 near County Road 318, police said.

William Walters, 60, of Cape Girardeau County rear-ended a Dodge pickup truck about 6 p.m., said Capt. Rodney Barnes of the Jackson Police Department. Walters was flung from his 2009 Suzuki motorcycle and died at 7:30 p.m. after being transported to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Barnes said.

Barnes declined to release the name of the pickup truck driver but said the driver tried to avoid the collision.
