Cape Girardeau County's second scrap tire roundup is set for 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The tires must be brought to the county's highway maintenance site, on Highway 34 near Highway 72.
Everyone in the county, including those living in the cities of Cape Girardeau and Jackson, may dispose of as many as 30 tires without charge.
But county had set limits. No more than four farm tractor tires will be allowed and nothing larger than tractor tires. Only residents may drop off tires, but no commercial businesses will be allowed to participate.
The $28,000 program is partially funded by a Missouri Department of Natural Resources grant.
