Cape County GOP Central Committee elects new officers

The Cape Girardeau County Republican Central Committee elected new leadership earlier this month.

New officers are chairman Scott R. Clark, vice chairman Cindy Grothman, secretary Deborah Griffin, treasurer Jerry Keele and deputy treasurer Mark Welker.

The committee elected its new officers at a meeting Aug. 16 at the Cape Girardeau County administration building in Jackson.

Clark said he was "humbled and honored" to be elected chairman.

"I encourage all interested individuals who wish to get involved in the political process to join us by volunteering at headquarters, walking in the parades or supporting a candidate of their choice," he said.

The GOP headquarters, which opened Aug. 3 and will remain open through Election Day, is at 1606 N. Kingshighway.
