Singer Mike Dumey will provide the special entertainment during Thursday's concert by the Jackson Muny Band.

Dumey is a graduate of Jackson High School and is the choral director at Central Junior High School in Cape Girardeau. He is known for his productions of spring musicals at the school and for his duet performances with singer Robyn Hosp.

His program will include several of his parents' favorite songs in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The band will play Sousa's "Belle of Chicago," "British Eighth" by Zo Elliott, "Gospel Time" by Louis Fratturo and the South American march "Latina.' The flute section will be featured on Clare Grundman's Flutaion." The band also will perform selections from the Broadway musical "A Chorus Line."

The free concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Jackson City Park Bandshell. Audience members are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

The band is directed by Nick Leist.
