An "open" Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Board meeting will be conducted at the Show Me Center on the Southeast Missouri State University campus Tuesday.
"The chamber holds open meetings each quarter to give members a chance to observe the board in action," said Robert Hendrix, president of the chamber. "It also gives members an opportunity to appear before the chamber board and make any suggestions or proposals they feel should be considered."
The open session will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m.
"This meeting precedes the monthly `Business After Hours' social meeting," said Hendrix.
The Business After Hours session will also be held at the Show Me Center, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. University faculty, staff and administration have been invited to attend the gathering.
Sponsor for this month's activity will be Concord Printing.
In addition, the chamber recently announced dates for the annual "Industry Foundation For Progress" dinner, to be held Oct. 3, at the Show Me Center.
"More than 900 people attended the dinner last year," said Hendrix.
The program is designed to honor area industries.
"The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the `Commitment to Excellence' award, honoring the 1991 Industry of the Year," said Hendrix.
Tickets for the dinner are now available by contacting the chamber. Tickets are $20 each, and tables of eight may be reserved.
In conjunction with the appreciation dinner, the Industrial Relations Council is planning its third annual Industrial Appreciation Golf Tournament, which will be held Sept. 30 at the Cape Girardeau Country Club. Additional information and entries are available at the chamber office.
