A Cape Central student has been awarded the University of Missouri-Columbia Merit Scholarship.
Jeffrey M. Riley, who graduates May 26 from Central, is one of 2,500 winners of Merit Scholarship awards financed by colleges and universities.
College-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards provide between $250 and $2,000 annually.
Riley is senior class vice president and was captain of the varsity football team. He was a member of numerous school organizations including the National Honors Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Missouri Scholars Academy, and was a recipient of the Scholar/Athlete Award.
Riley has listed chemical engineering as his career field.
