Cape business reports delivery truck stolen

A Cape Girardeau food distribution business reported a delivery truck stolen Monday. A representative of Gourmet Foods, 1249 S. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, told police a delivery truck and food were missing shortly before midnight. The truck was later recovered by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, abandoned and parked off County Road 314. Cape Girardeau police spokesman Darin Hickey said officers are looking into the possibility that the truck was taken by an employee, who failed to return it after his shift was over. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing, Hickey said.
