Percy Huston, who joined South East Missouri Bank during its third year of operation, has resigned as president.
Huston joined the Cape Girardeau bank in 1983 and became president in 1988.
Huston is the second Cape Girardeau bank president to leave their position within the past month: Greg Smith left as president of First National Bank last month.
South East Missouri Bank opened for business in a temporary office -- a 12-by-60-foot mobile home -- in February 1981. Eight months later it moved into its building at 111 S. Broadview.
John Huston, president and chief executive officer of South East Missouri Bank holding company, Wood and Huston of Marshall, Mo., said that Huston had resigned "for personal reasons." A process will be started to select a new president, he said.
