Dave Jackson of Cape Girardeau has been elected president of the Capaha Antique Car Club.

He said one of the main goals of the club for 2000 is to buy a building or build a structure to serve as a small antique car museum and meeting place. The club has established a building committee to pursue this goal.

The club has about 75 members and serves parts of four states: Southeast Missouri, southwest Illinois, northwest Tennessee and northeast Arkansas. It has been a gathering point for antique car enthusiasts since 1963.

Jackson is assistant store manager at Van Matre Buick in Cape Girardeau. He and his wife, Kathy, are the parents of two grown children. He is the owner of a pink 1958 "Big Buick Special." Previously, he owned a 1928 Model A Ford.
