The Cape County Tea Party will host a candidate forum at its monthly meeting today.

The forum, which is open to the public, will feature candidates running in contested races on the Aug. 5 primary ballot. Those expected to attend are Jeffrey Dix and Gary Kamp for Associate Circuit Judge; Scott R. Clark and Drew Blattner for Cape Girardeau County recorder of deeds; Victor R. Gunn and Evan Trump for Cape Girardeau City Council, Ward 3; and Allen Moss, Trae Bertrand and Michael Gardner for Circuit Judge. All are Republicans.

Candidates will answer a prepared question and will have an opportunity to explain why they should be elected.

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Cape Girardeau Public Library, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early to speak with the candidates.
