Voters looking for information about candidates for school board, city council and other contested races on the April 6 ballot can find responses to questions posed by the Southeast Missourian on our website.
For each contested election, the Southeast Missourian asked candidates to provide basic personal information as well as answers to questions about the issues facing them if they win the election. So far, of 77 candidates in contested elections in Cape Girardeau, Scott, Bollinger and Perry counties, the Missourian has received 24 responses.
The answers may be found at semissourian.com/election.
Candidates who have not responded to letters asking them to participate still have time to do so. The answers will be published April 4 in the Missourian.
Candidates who need more information or help completing their questionnaires -- or those who did not receive a letter notifying them about the questionnaires -- may contact Rudi Keller, the Missourian's political reporter. He can be reached at 388-3642 or by e-mail at rkeller@semissourian.com.
