Perry County Department of Health Board of Commissioners

April 2, 2013

WHAT'S THE BIGGEST NEED YOU HOPE TO ADDRESS IF ELECTED?

As a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Perry County Health Department I hope to improve the performance of the agency by encouraging citizens to get more actively involved in the goal setting and problem solving affairs of the agency. Developing a rational and systematic continuous improvement organizational approach requires the participation of everyone. Together we need to assess the health status of our population, diagnose our health problems, search for causes and design solutions. For example, we could design educational programs to discourage teenagers from smoking, abusing alcohol and drugs. We could even design educational programs to discourage young

drivers from texting. We could discourage citizens of all ages from littering and polluting our air and streams. Together we can make good health happen.

WHY ARE YOU THE BEST CANDIDATE?

Fellow Citizens,

Martin Luther King, once said, "Everybody can be great because everybody can serve." I feel I have the academic credentials, healthcare work experience, and creativity to serve successfully on the Board of Commissioners for the Perry County Health Department. As we get older one's health becomes more and more important to us. I not only want to maintain and improve my own health but the health of my relatives, friends, neighbors and my community. I can make a difference because I have a proven ability to solve problems. I have a history of facilitating and coordinating team based solutions to problems in a variety of workplace settings.

Help me bring a program of continuous improvement to the Perry County Health Department by providing me with your ideas and solutions. Call me at 573-513-1072. Please consider voting me on April 2nd.
