WHAT IN YOUR BACKGROUND OR EDUCATION MAKES YOU QUALIFIED FOR THIS OFFICE?:

I attended Saint Louis University where I completed my premedical studies while also obtaining my bachelor's degree in communication. Upon graduation, I chose not to apply to medical schools, but I still believe that I gained an ample amount of knowledge about the medical industry from completing the course work and from working at Saint Louis University Hospital. My degree in communication also adds to my qualifications for this position as the board members try to ensure that the health department is offering every program and resource available to aid and educate the public they serve. I believe our health department is doing everything right except communicating to our residents the programs and services they offer. I think our residents are benefiting by the health department's programs without even knowing it. I can imagine how much more beneficial their resources will be when the public is made more aware of what they offer. I hope to bring the knowledge and background of how to accomplish this goal to the Perry County Health Department by acting as a member of the board of trustees.
