WHAT'S THE BIGGEST NEED YOU HOPE TO ADDRESS IF ELECTED?

I hope to add my expertise as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner to the excellent programs that the Cape Girardeau County Health Department has in place. According to the May, 2012 County Health Report the three top health issues facing Cape Girardeau County are 1) Obesity, 2) Smoking (especially during pregnancy), and 3) Immunizations.

I feel working with pregnant women and smoking cessation will be the issue I would like to address if elected.

WHY ARE YOU THE BEST CANDIDATE?

My experience as a Registered Nurse and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner gives me a unique perspective regarding women's issues and adolescent issues. I have been a provider in several community agencies and can offer the Public Health Department valuable insight into programs with positive outcomes.
