__What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?:__

Having an well-established dedication to both the school and its community is the primary qualification for any school board candidate. In addition to having such dedication, I am also a successful business owner. As such, I bring the skills and experience necessary to aid in the oversight of our schools. I have firsthand knowledge regarding: the importance of facilities management, the necessity for advancement in technology; experience in budgeting, projections, teamwork and establishing effective goals.

__How will you communicate your work to your constituents?:__

Effective communication and accountability are key to the health of any organization. It is the right of every person in our district to be aware of any and all decisions pertaining to educational protocols, academic progress, budgetary concerns and to know how each elected official has voted. With that in mind, I intend to publish the topics of discussion within this public forum, along with the results of all votes taken during future board meetings.

__What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?:__

Being a father and a resident for nearly a decade, I recognize that decisions must be based upon more than personal opinions. School board members must earnestly consider the input from parents, administrators, teachers and other board members; along with doing their own independent research and evaluating other test models and districts. By practicing these basic principles, I intend to reach educated decisions which will advance our schools and meet with the community's approval.

__What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?:__

I am proud of our dedicated board, our committed faculty and our new forward-thinking superintendent and I am excited to see what the future holds for our already successful school. I anxiously await all of the opportunities and challenges which will certainly accompany a seat on the school board and I intend to continue with the same level of excellence Oak Ridge Schools have always displayed; while emphasizing the advancement of: technology, transparency and accountability.
