WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING THE OAK RIDGE SCHOOL DISTRICT?

Our Elementary School building is approximately 60 years old and in desperate need of improvement and updating. Items required are new roofs, updating & enhancing our electrical to meet current technology needs, new HVAC units, new windows, and various other building improvements. On this year's election ballot is a $1.5 million bond proposal to fund these improvements. The good news is that due to its structure the bond will not require a tax increase. In addition, it is a desirable time to float a debt issue as interest rates are at historic lows. Market rates are bound to increase at some date making a future borrowing more costly. So now is the time, and it is needed.

WHAT IN YOUR BACKGROUND OR EDUCATION MAKES YOU QUALIFIED FOR THIS OFFICE?

Having spent the last 25+ years (quarter century) in banking has provided myself a strong background in finance, lending, bonds & investments, accounting, audit, government regulation and human resource management.
