My wife is Leslie Meeks,and we have five children; four of which currently attend Scott County R-IV school district (Kelly). Marshall is in 8th grade, Caleb 7th grade, Grace 5th grade and Tyler 1st grade. Kinley (17 months) is an excellent climber.

__What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?:__

Currently, I oversee day to day operations to make sure we have the best team to get the job done. I handle the finacials, planning, and problem-solving of our location. I do this along with a team. I ensure the safety of my team. I consult with local farmers to help plan cost efficent ways to help manage and protect their crops. These things I feel will be beneficial as a board member.

__What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?:__

Opportunities are endless. We have a great community that helps support our children. From the Sherrifs department ensuring our children are safe by having deputies on site, to the support from the parents volunteering as coaches. There are always challenges, from funding to bullying. That's why we need to get families more involved with the education paths that we take to teach our children. Let's educate together.

__How will you communicate your work to your constituents?:__

I run what they call an open door policy. If you have a concern then so do we. We can communicate at school activities, out in town or at the store. There are public board meetings and I would like to encourage the community to attend.

__What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?:__

From the solid facts. We need to always ensure that we are doing what's best for our students, faculty, school and our surrounding community. As a team, the board will make the best decision possible. Making sure all of the facts are presented and thoroughly investigated.
