My dual background in both business and nursing make me the best candidate. After having worked in the business industry 26 years (11 in Banking, and then in family business), I understand the importance of excellent record keeping and following a conservative budget. Coupled with my experience taking care of others in both my personal life as well as nursing, I am more than capable of making informed decisions on behalf of others.
As I read in the paper that Phyllis Schwab was retiring, I told my husband, "This is me, this is what I do, I CAN do this, I WANT to do this". This job encompasses all of what I have done, from record keeping, running businesses, dealing with the public, to caring for others as a nurse, mother, grandmother, and guardian. Caring for others, being their advocate, and doing what's right, it's my passion.
I am going into this position with eyes wide open. This job is not your typical Monday-Friday 8-5 position, it will be 24/7, which I have 15+ years experience working round the clock as we operated a 24/7 transportation & trucking company. Putting these men & women first and making informed decisions on their behalf will be primary. I put my heart and soul into everything I do, and this job will be no exception.
