WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING YOUR FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT?:
We need more volunteers, better equipment, and more training. We need to work better with our local governments in an effort to ensure the needs of our citizens are met.
WHAT IN YOUR BACKGROUND OR EDUCATION MAKES YOU QUALIFIED FOR THIS OFFICE?:
I have worked both as a paid and as a volunteer firefighter; I have experience investigating crimes involving arson, suspicious fires, as well as insurance fraud. I have completed 40 hours of hazardous waste operations and emergency response training. I believe my 17 years working in public safety with 10 years as a public safety supervisor have given me a chance to work closely with our local emergency responders. I have seen the important job that they do. I would like to use my knowledge of state and federal grant funding to help secure the best training and equipment for our volunteers.
