__What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?:__
We have lived in the Nell Holcomb District for the past 14 years. Three of our children currently attend NHS. As a family we have been very involved in the educational process with our children through the School Board, Foundation, PTO, Beta Club, Sports, and other District Functions.
I have served on the Board of Education for the past 6 years; the last 4 years I have been selected by the board to serve as the President. I make decisions based upon gathering information and listening. I recognize the need to be a team player. The board and administration function as a team to provide the best education we can offer.
__What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?:__
As a district we have incredible administrators, teachers and staff. We are positioned to continue to provide many years of quality education. We have the opportunity to continue educating while instilling good values. The district continues to navigate through the challenge of low funding while still providing the best education possible.
__How will you communicate your work to your constituents?:__
I encourage people to be involved by attending the monthly board meetings. And as always, I am personally available to talk.
__What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?:__
Decisions are based upon providing a great education in a safe environment for our students. We function as a team to give the children the best education possible. Honesty, integrity, and character drive me in collecting as much information as possible to make an informed decision. As a Christian, I pray and ask God for wisdom and His direction.
