WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING SCOTT CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS?:

We must provide a positive learning environment that allows students to achieve their academic potential. This can be accomplished by increasing parental involvement, establishing accountable metrics, and providing the teaching staff with the latest training and technology that will enable our school to be competitive in today's environment.

WHAT IN YOUR BACKGROUND OR EDUCATION MAKES YOU QUALIFIED FOR THIS OFFICE?:

I have a degree in finance from Southeast Missouri State University and I have obtained the project management professional (PMP) certification. Over the past 15 years, I have managed several multiyear projects in order to achieve compliance with both state and federal legislation. This has required management and facilitation of large project teams and stakeholders in order to complete each initiative. With each project I was required to develop and maintain a budget, establish and monitor metrics, and resolve conflicts in order to meet the project goals. The experience that I have obtained in project management and as a compliance director will enable me to assist with the dynamics and challenges currently faced by the Scott City School Board.
