CANDIDATE FORUM TO BE BROADCAST NEXT WEEK ON TV

A candidates' forum sponsored by the local League of Women Voters will air Tuesday and Wednesday on Cable Access Channel 5. Other sponsors were the mass communications and political science departments at Southeast Missouri State University.

It will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday and again early on Wednesday evening.

The two-hour forum included candidates for 8th district U.S. Congress, 158th district Missouri House of Representatives, Cape Girardeau County Commission, public administrator and coroner.

Several candidates did not attend; all were incumbents. They included U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Cape Girardeau; Larry Bock, a candidate for 2nd district commissioner and John Carpenter, county coroner. All filed as Republicans.
