BENTON -- Campus Auto and Tire has opened a shop at Benton, the second facility for the company.
"We were looking for an outlying location," said Jim Eakin, who along with Woody Woodfin and Butch Urhahn own the company. "This spot was already set up. It has good potential."
Mike Eakin, manager, and Jeff Slagley, mechanic, are staffing the operation. Both have several years experience.
The Benton shop offers tire sales and auto repair service, and will offer Michelin, Uniroyal, Jetson and Laramie tires along with Firestone tires for farm, implement and large truck use.
A grand opening will be held in the near future with several promotions.
The shop is open daily 7:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturday until 3 p.m..
Campus Auto and Tire purchased the site from Curley Urhahn. He operated a service station there from 1947 until last year.
