Campbell, Mo., man charged with child sex crimes

CAMPBELL, Mo. -- A 42-year-old Campbell man was recently arrested on three felony charges of sex crimes involving children under the age of 17.

Following an investigation by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mark Lawrence McKnight, 42, of Campbell, was arrested on the charges of statutory rape in the first degree, statutory rape in the second degree and forcible sodomy.

The charges involve the attempted sexual intercourse with a person who was less than 14-years-old and a person who was less than 17-years old.

McKnight is currently being held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on a $100,000 cash only bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Dunklin County Circuit Court, Division II at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
