Caldwell's work uses cotton linter as a base, to which he adds fabrics, Japanese papers, metallics, threads and wrapped sticks. The works are air brushed, sponged or splattered, then dried, matted and framed.

Caldwell has designed work for residential and commercial installations, including for Fairfield Communities Resorts, TRW and Holiday Inn. He works closely with interior designers and individuals on custom pieces. "It requires the use of color and texture to create an environment; using the artwork to pull together the decor and make it work as a whole," he said.

The exhibit will continue through Nov. 20. Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. weekdays.
