Police were investigating a shooting Saturday in Cairo, Illinois, that sent two people -- one a bank robbery suspect -- to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Illinois State Police reported.
Haywood W. Jones, a suspect in a recent bank robbery in Kevil, Kentucky, and a juvenile were treated and released at area hospitals after a fight led to a shooting at the Elmwood Housing Complex in Cairo, according to an Illinois State Police news release.
Cape Girardeau police arrested Jones on a warrant issued in Kentucky, the release stated.
Illinois State Police assisted the Cairo Police Department in the investigation.
