CAIRO LEVEE RACE NOV. 11

CAIRO -- The 26th Cairo Levee Foot Race in Cairo will be held rain or shine Nov. 11.

The two races -- one 5K and one 10K -- will both begin at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Park. Courses will be clearly marked and will mostly follow gravel roads along the Mississippi River levee.

Entry fee is $10 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens. All entrants will receive T-shirts, and winners in each of 26 age categories will receive awards. Every finisher will receive a certificate, and free refreshments and prizes will be available after the race.

Race-day registration will begin at 10, and preregistered runners should assemble at 10:30 at St.. Mary's Park.
