SIKESTON -- Falcon Cable TV customers will experience service interruptions during the next week because of the sun's position.

Beginning this weekend, outages can be expected daily, generally between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m.

"Sun outages are a part of satellite operations and occur in the spring and fall of each year," Falcon chief engineer Kevin Goetz said.

"This takes place when the orbital positions are such that the satellite and the sun are in one line."

During such times, the satellite television signals can be entirely or partially disrupted, Goetz said.
