Local businesswoman Kathy Swan filed for second district associate commissioner this week, pushing the total number of candidates to 17 for the two associate commissioner spots.
Swan, well known in Republican circles, is owner of JCS Tel-link, a communications business in Cape Girardeau.
Swan will be running against Republicans James "Clay" Waller, Dan Niswonger, Walter White, Bill Reynolds, Bill Stanfield, Jay Purcell and Dennis "Doc" Cain. James Bowers is running on the Democrat ticket.
The last day for filing is March 30.
