BUSINESSES TO CLOSE FOR HOLIDAY

Several area businesses will be close Thursday for the Fourth of July holiday.

Area banks, including Boatmen's Banks, Union Planters Banks and Commerce Bank in both Cape Girardeau and Jackson will be closed for the entire day on Thursday, but will re-open on Friday.

Trash pickup will not run in Cape Girardeau Thursday and no special schedules will be run for the rest of the week. The city of Jackson's solid waste crew will not make pick-ups on Thursday, but will attempt to make up for missed Thursday pick-ups on Wednesday and Friday.

The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations will also close Thursday. In addition to the offices being closed, the automated telephone information and customer service lines will not be available from 8 a.m. until 7:00 Friday.
