Businesses create online discount gift card store

The Southeast Missourian and several local businesses have teamed up to create a new 50 Percent Off Gift Card Store on the newspaper's website.

Beginning today people may go to www.semissourian.com/giftcards to purchase gift cards for half the stated value and print them from home.

"It's a great way for customers to try new places they haven't been before and a way for local businesses to gain new customers," said Gera LeGrand, promotions specialist at the Southeast Missourian.

Participating restaurants and services are Quiznos, Pop's Pizza, The Branding Iron, eDen Spa & Salon, Pizzeria Adagio, Broussard's, Vines 2 Wines Excursions, CiCi's Pizza, Tiger Ridge Restaurant, Tiger Ridge Tours and Texas Roadhouse.

The number of gift cards available for each business is limited. The Southeast Missourian's gift card store will remain open until Aug. 14 or until all the gift cards sell out, LeGrand said.
