Work on the $640 million project is scheduled to go out to bid in the fall. Four companies have already qualified to bid for the main work on the new span. Eight others have expressed interest in bidding to work on the approaches to the bridge.

The meetings are scheduled Aug. 5 at Friends: A Meeting Place in St. Louis, and Aug. 6 at the Casino Queen Hotel in East St. Louis, Ill.
