Tonya Skinner, a business education major at Southeast Missouri State University, has received the Outstanding Business Education Student Award for Region 3 of the American Vocational Association.
The Southeast senior was chosen from students in Region 3's six-state area of Montana, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Missouri.
Skinner of Bloomfield has served as president of the Southeast chapter of Phi Beta Lambda for two years and was a state officer for two years. PBL is the collegiate chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America.
Skinner also serves as vice president of Phi Omega Phi, the national honorary society for business education students.
The award was presented at the recent session of the vocational association conference in Cincinnati.
