The store can obtain whatever merchandise is in the official Girl Scout catalog. Wilferth said customers at the store have the advantage of saving shipping and handling charges and are able to try on clothing to determine the correct size, rather than ordering through the catalog.

Otahki Girl Scout Council spokesman Millie Turner said Hartford's of Cape Girardeau previously handled the Girl Scout merchandise but no longer has a children's clothing department. She said other official agencies in the area include JCPenney's in Cape Girardeau, Rozier's in Perryville and Golde's in Sikeston.

Children's Bazaar has carried Boy Scout equipment for one year.
