Scott County sheriff's deputies are holding a 37-year-old Charleston, Missouri, man they suspect of at least four burglaries in rural Scott County, according to Sheriff Rick Walter.
The suspect is wanted on a Mississippi County, Missouri, arrest warrant featuring a $50,000 cash or surety bond, Walter said.
Walter could not provide the suspect's name or the current charge the suspect is facing. He was waiting for charges Thursday from the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Walter said the suspect's usual modus operandi is stealing televisions from rural homes. The suspect is a person of interest in similar crimes in New Madrid County, Missouri, Walter said.
Deputies contacted victims of the burglaries and have returned some stolen items, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office.
The department worked with the Sikeston, Missouri, Department of Public Safety, Charleston Police Department, Mississippi County Sheriff's Office and New Madrid County Sheriff's Office on the case, according to the news release.
